Obituary of Carmen Campagne
Canadian singer-songwriter Carmen Campagne has died of cancer at the age of 58. Campagne was born in Willow Bunch, Saskatchewan. After a career as a teacher, she followed her passion in writing and singing children's songs, which began in the late 1980s.
Upon moving to Québec, she released several French-language albums. After returning to Saskatchewan, she released two more albums in 2010 and 2014. She also returned to teaching.
Her achievements include: selling over one million Cds and Dvds, a Juno award, four Felix Awards, and a Parents' Choice Award in the US. Perhaps Campagne's greatest achievement was becoming a Member of the Order of Canada in 2013.
