Obituary of John Sidney McCain III
John McCain III was a true American Hero who passed away at the age of 81 due to a malignant brain tumor known as a glioblastoma. He was born at the Coco Solo Naval Air Station in the Panama Canal Zone to naval officer John S. McCain Jr. and Roberta (Wright) McCain.
John McCain III was known as a warrior politician who fought for what he believed in throughout his life. He was a naval bomber pilot, prisoner of the Vietnam War, conservative politician, U.S. Senator of Arizona, and a twice-defeated presidential candidate. His survival through plane crashes, battles with skin cancer, and 5 and a half years of being a prisoner of war was a true testament to his strength and he carried his strong will with him in every aspect of his life. He was a very humble man who was a true representation of humanity. In his own words, "It's been quite a ride. I've known great passions, seen amazing wonders, fought in a war, and helped make peace," McCain wrote. "I've lived very well and I've been deprived of all comforts. I've been as lonely as a person can be and I've enjoyed the company of heroes. I've suffered the deepest despair and experienced the highest exultation.
"I made a small place for myself in the story of America and the history of my times."
