He was predeceased by : his sisters, Nancy Respess and Liddie Terry. He is survived by : his wife Lucy Mae Clark Gurganus; his children, Jay Mack Gurganus III and Tracy Crawford (Tony); his step-son Jesse Edward Buck Jr; his grandchildren, Ethan, Thomas, Jessica, Morgan and Justin; his sister Joyce Williams (Frankie). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
